As Alpinstore's mountaineering expert, I had the opportunity to test the Ortovox Seceda softshell pants on various mountain hikes. These pants are distinguished by their Merino Shield Tec Soft fabric, a combination of polyamide, elastane and merino wool, offering excellent abrasion resistance as well as being wind- and water-repellent.

The merino wool inside provides a soft feel against the skin and ensures optimal thermoregulation, maintaining comfort even during sustained effort.

The ergonomic cut and elastic fabric provide appreciable freedom of movement, essential for technical terrain. What's more, the adjustable waistband provides a customized fit, enhancing comfort on long days in the mountains.

In terms of functionality, the pants feature two zipped hip pockets and a zipped thigh pocket, offering practical storage space for small essentials. Lace hooks and sturdy ankles add to practicality, ensuring that the pants stay securely in place and withstand tough conditions.

Weighing in at around 320g, the Seceda Softshell Pants are lightweight, making them ideal for hikes where every gram counts.
