This weekend, Salomon was present at the opening of the Salomon National Circuit / Over The Mountain 2018, on the slopes of the Ventoux.
2200 runners at the start of the various races (46, 23, 15, and a special girly 9km).
As every year, a huge density at the start of the 46km, with all the members of the French Trail Team, and brand teams.
Winter conditions (-6° on the summit, and 80km/h winds) made this first round particularly 'spicy'.
Ergysport Ventoux Trail 2018 winners: Marc Lauenstein(Salomon) and Lucie Jamsin (Isostar)
The Trail du Ventoux saw difficult weather conditions on a particularly cold weekend. Switzerland's Marc Lauenstein renews his success on the 46-kilometer main event, and Lucie Jamsin wins in the girls' category.
Year after year, the Trail du Ventoux has not been exactly the same. After last year's sunshine and blue skies, it was the cold, wind and white skies that awaited runners on the slopes of the giant.
With a rather impressive field, we were expecting a big battle in the men's race. And so it proved, with the Swiss rider from the Salomon Marc Lauenstein, as strong as ever on these forty-kilometer formats, came out on top in this high-flying race. In 4h00'22", he beat a very fit Ludovic Pommeret (Hoka One One) by thirty seconds. Third place went to Romain Maillard (Pierre Favre), also used to this technical and physical course.
We note 5th place for reigning French champion Nicolas Martin(Hoka One one) , and 6th for Sylvain Court(Oxsitis), the former world champion, both of whom make a good start to the 2018 season.
Lucie Jamsin wins the women's ranking in just under 5h, with a more substantial gap over her runner-up, Claire Mougel, 11 minutes behind.
Also of note was the first appearance of the Terre de Doubs / Salomonmade up entirely of young Cadet and Espoir runners!
All at the start of the 15km, the boys also brilliantly wore the Salomoncolors, winning : The race (Dylan), the Espoir ranking and the Cadet ranking.
