La Sportiva celebrates its 90th anniversary on May 23, 2018

On May 23, the Valle di Fiemme company celebrates its ninetieth anniversary with a maxi event open to the public in Trento's Museum Park and in the city center. Ninety years have passed since the company was founded in 1928 by shoemaker Narciso Delladio of Tesero (Val di Fiemme, Trento).

Nearly a century of history that has seen the small workshop called "La Calzoleria Sportiva" grow and evolve into the global brand that is today a leader in the climbing, skiing, mountaineering, trail and high-mountain sectors, thanks to the production of technical footwear and clothing totally conceived and developed in the Trento mountains. Four generations of the Delladio family, today represented by CEO Lorenzo Delladio and his daughter Giulia, have carried on the tradition of the family business to the success it enjoys today: over 300 employees, steadily rising sales that in 2018 will exceed one hundred million euros, and a new 150,000 m² building that will be inaugurated by the end of the year and soon lead to the potential doubling of climbing and mountain footwear production.

Wednesday, May 23 at the Trento Museum, where sales representatives from over 70 countries will gather for the Sales Meeting, La Sportiva will celebrate its 90th anniversary, open to the entire population of Trento and, more generally, to all lovers of the mountains and their protagonists.

La Sportiva joins forces with Trento for a celebration with a taste of history and legends, with streetboulder events in the historic center during the afternoon and mountain-themed aperitif dinners in the Plan and Pasi bars: the latter, for the occasion, will pay tribute to the company.

With flavors and colors that echo the brand's codes.

- From 5:00 p.m. in the Parc du Musée, music with Climbing Radio DJs, drinks & food at food trucks and, of course, climbing with athletes from La Sportiva. In the Parc des Albere, a 20-meter boulder will be set up for family climbing sessions, and in the evening, a contest with the world's best climbers.

- At 7:00 p.m., the event is joined by some exceptional guests: on stage alongside Lorenzo Delladio will be Simone Moro, Tamara Lunger and Adam Ondra, all of whom have made the history of mountaineering and climbing worldwide.

- At 9.00 pm, a new climbing contest with Kilian Fischhuber, Anna Stöhr, Angela Eiter, Stefano Ghisolfi, Adam Ondra, Jacopo Larcher, Mina Markovic, Tommy Caldwell and many others. Among the audience: Manolo, Anton Krupicka and other legends past and present.

- At 10:00 p.m. the contest concludes, followed by a night-time DJ set by Johnny Mox and a "surprise event" on the walls of the Museum...

The event will also be broadcast live on Facebook and on the brand's social networkswith the hashtag #TrentoLaSportiva: a fitting definition for Trento, the city with the highest concentration of amateur sportsmen and women in Italy. And that's not all: the tribute from La Sportivaa tribute to its home town will continue throughout May, with an exhibition on the theme of mountaineering at the Museum, and anniversary-related initiatives at Sportler sales outlets in Trento. And last but not least, the Block & Wall street bouldering event scheduled for Saturday April 26 between the historic center and the Museum park.
