Leki: quality and efficiency

The Leki brand was created in 1948 by Karl Lenhart, a skier who was dissatisfied with the quality and functionality of the ski poles on the market at the time. As a result, the designer decided to manufacture the handles and washers himself, before launching production runs in the 60s. The first ski pole model was launched in 1970.

To diversify its range, Leki launched summer poles, often used for hiking, trail running and trekking. In 1974, the Makalu pole was a real success, being the first on the market to feature an adjustment system. A few years later, in 1982, the brand developed trekking poles with shock absorption for maximum comfort. Mountaineering was also seduced by the brand with folding poles presented in 2013.

In parallel with these innovations, the team has been thinking about and developing handles to achieve an incredible grip. It was in 1998 that Leki revolutionized the pole market with a never-before-seen system: trigger. But 10 years later, it's the Trigger S system that takes over as a spectacular innovation. The glove and stick are linked together, and will not come loose except in the event of a fall or voluntary action.

To take its product range a step further, Leki has developed an external adjustment system: speed lock. The pair of poles can thus be adjusted with a simple gesture.

Poles for all seasons

As mentioned above, Leki wanted to offer its customers a wide range of products. That's why it has diversified its range to include ski poles, trail poles, mountaineering poles, hiking poles, trekking poles and cross-country ski poles.

Today, Leki is the leader in the field of poles and glove systems. Highly qualified and with many years of expertise, the brand manufactures quality products for all outdoor sports.
